MEDITATION
LIFE & FLY FISHING Disclaimer
Remember you are in control of your own life. Don’t blame me or anyone else if you screw up! Hence, the following legaleeeeeze: The
information contained in Meditation, Life and Fly Fishing reflects the opinions
of the author. No guarantees are
expressed or implied or insinuated. I
am not a physician, psychologist or attorney, just an observer of life and a
long-term practitioner of meditation, life and hopefully one day fly-fishing.
This website is provided only for information. It should not be construed as financial, legal or medical advice of any kind. Any references to mental and physical well being, procedures, and benefits represent my opinions. They are based primarily upon my experience and MY known truths, not just a regurgitation of other works. It is expected that you will accept those truths as you see them and experience them, and formulate YOUR own opinions. This is as it should be. Never blindly accept opinions or facts presented by anyone, unless you can personally verify them. You and you alone can discern your own truths. Your journey through life must be one of your own choosing. Meditation is an individual effort. Its effectiveness is unique to your own state of mind and your own ability to apply the techniques described herein. It is advised that you conduct your meditations in an area where you will not be disturbed. Abrupt physical or noise related interruptions have the potential to be harmful to some people who are not able to cope physically or mentally. If you have a physical or mental medical condition, you may want to seek the advice of your physician before engaging in a practice, such as meditation, that slows your metabolism and alters your thought process temporarily. I can’t imagine how a relaxation technique could be anything but beneficial, but then again I’m not a doctor and am not knowledgeable of your particular circumstances. Now, having said all of that, please realize that I have been meditating for over three decades. I have sustained no significant ill effect, other than a little agitation from the occasional interruption or from abruptly ending my meditation without a transition period. The only other issue that I have had to deal with is the shock of a heightened sense of rationality and reality. When you originally begin your meditations, or after you begin your meditations again after an absence, your perception of life may be altered by your increased clarity of thought. You may feel compelled to make changes in your lifestyle. These changes can be both beneficial and unsettling at the same time, but I think most of us would agree that a life based upon reality is ultimately more rewarding. These inconveniences, I believe, are a minuscule price to pay for such a magnificent tool that can bring you happiness, help you to cope with the stress of an increasingly complex world, and enable you to achieve so much more of your potential. Lastly, accept personal responsibility for your life. Make your own decisions and accept their consequences. If you smoke, don’t blame the tobacco companies for your cancer. If you eat junk food and get heart disease, don’t hold the fast food companies responsible. If you snap up every credit offered to you, charge them to the hilt and must declare bankruptcy, don’t chastise the banking industry.
